    03.03.2010

Samsung Electronics unveiled its newest additions to putting HD camcorders in the palm of consumers' hands with the display of the ultra-compact HMX-U20 and HMX-U15 at PMA 2010 last week.

Branching out from the success of the HMX-U10 camcorder, the U20 and U15 deliver better   functionality for the ever-growing ultra-compact camcorder consumer base. One-touch YouTube uploads make the journey from camcorder to the Internet simple for electronic consumers of any knowledge range. In addition, the models each have a built-in USB connection that makes sharing HD video even easier than before.

The HMX-U20 and U15 juggle stunning HD video at a resolution of 1920x1080 and 10 megapixel still images quite well. The only visible difference between the models is that the HMX-U15 has a slightly higher megapixel count (at 14 MP compared to the U20’s 10 MP), but no optical zoom whereas the U20 has a 3x. Both ultra-compact units, though, eliminate the need for a high-performing digital camera by utilizing the feature of Hyper Digital Image Stabilization for help capturing blur-free video and images.

Videographers can be as creative as they want with their memories using the Samsung in-camera editing program called intelli studio. While harboring the tools to create a video in a mobile studio, consumers can also take advantage of time-lapse recording to capture those special memories in a new light.
