    Nikon's released a firmware update for the high-performance COOLPIX flagship model the P7000 digital camera. The firmware update labeled, "Firmware Version 1.1", fixes many of the bugs that have been found with the camera's original firmware.

    The specific technical details for the update include:

    • Reduced image recording time for RAW images.
    • Optimized lens control to reduce the frequency of the camera from displaying the error message, "Initializing lens. Cannot focus."
    • Eliminates a known issue that occasionally prevented zoom operations from functioning.
    • Eliminates a known issue that causes the LCD display to exhibit a loss of detail in highlights, in certain instances.

    The firmware update is available immediately for download from Nikon's website.
