    Nikon's released a firmware update for the high-performance COOLPIX flagship model the P7000 digital camera. The firmware update labeled, "Firmware Version 1.1", fixes many of the bugs that have been found with the camera's original firmware.

    The specific technical details for the update include:

    • Reduced image recording time for RAW images.
    • Optimized lens control to reduce the frequency of the camera from displaying the error message, "Initializing lens. Cannot focus."
    • Eliminates a known issue that occasionally prevented zoom operations from functioning.

The lens is Tamron's 60th anniversary model and is known as the 18-270mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD lens. This new mega travel zoom lens is the world's lightest and smallest lens with a 15x zoom ratio for cameras with an APS-C sized sensor.
